Oct 1 Panelists : Pamela Facey, Quennie Vuong and Lisa Antao
Pamela Facey is a biracial salon owner and storyteller who knows how to captivate an audience. After a botched haircut left her traumatized in middle school, she set out to master the art of hair styling. From braiding in the bleachers to taking clients in her grandmother’s basement, it wasn’t long before she was opening up her very own salon in Etobicoke - she is a firm believer in the power of personal development. A mother of 2 girls (and a poodle named Sandy), Pamela has a zest for life and unwavering determination. She has embarked on a transformative journey filled with love, loss, growth, and self-acceptance (usually with a non-dairy latte in hand) that she documented in her tell-all: The Victory Lap. Her story is a reminder that life is an ever-evolving process of learning and self-discovery.
Quennie Vuong is the owner and founder of Over the Luna, a business that specializes in crafting
customized gifts that celebrate significant moments and achievements. After quitting her full-time corporate job, Quennie has dedicated herself entirely to her entrepreneurial ventures. Over the span of 4 years, she is now teaching students online, amassed a thriving community of over 100,000 Instagram followers. Her personalized creations are now cherished by customers worldwide, and she is set to open her first retail storefront at The Well in Toronto.
Lisa Hoffmann Antão is the owner and founder of Lis the Label, a jewelry and accessories brand which specializes on curating and designing pieces which are hypoallergenic, affordable and most importantly non tarnish, so that long lasting jewelry for all is more accessible. After years of researching and planning for the launch of Lis the Label in March 2020, Lisa quit her full time job earlier this year to take the brand to the next level. After 3.5 years in business and a leap of faith, Lisa has now showcased her pieces in both Paris and New York Fashion Week, various fashion publications and has begun selling her pieces in retail locations across Toronto, with many more locations to come.
